I unfriended a whole bunch of accounts that I did not recognize at all, which means they're either dead or not posting. If this is you and you want to be my friend, let me know (and update more!)

Being on Livejournal for a million years, my friendslist has become this huge 10-page item with all kinds of people who left long ago, but still count me as a friend. It's hard to navigate and makes me a little angry every time.

Sometimes I think my journal became so boring, I wish to have an amazing journal and go on all kinds of adventures. You know those blogs you find sometimes, that are just enchanting? I feel it would not be worth it for me to go over to other blogging platforms because I have so little to offer, I'm just here because my friends are here.

Do you read any blogs that are just breathtakingly beautiful, that transport you to another world? I don't just mean a girl in a vintage frock baking a cake in a matching kitchen, I mean really jaw-dropping hair-raising wonderful?

I'll give you one that is one of my favourites: http://prettysmartgirlart.blogspot.nl/

Thank you for keeping me (at least I think you did, haha) I'm in the middle of a move and feel so bad for rarely updating! :\ I feel the same way about my journal... although when I started it hundreds of years ago, I didn't think it would be for public viewing. But sometimes I wish I had more *interesting* things to offer... that being said, I really enjoy reading your blog & think you shouldn't be so critical of yourself!

Oh yeah everyone who at least updates some times was kept, as well as people I know really wrote things at some point. It was mostly people who friended me at random and then left after one entry, I tried to take those account out of my list.

I used to do lots of fun things and now I think I'm just old and boring, haha! I used to update lots about sewing and knitting and apple picking and taking walks and stuff, now it's just a hasty gathering of pictures... And I think picture blogs are just so boring, it's just too easy to do. I want something more!

I always enjoy your blogs, even if they are just a "photo dump" (thats also why I have Tumblr, to see other people's pics). Yet I recognise and share your feelings. I used to have so much to update, now I rarely do and when I do I'm just whining. The life of a grown-up is less adventerous perhaps? Than again, you seem to have some job adventures as of late! And like the lady, your jobs seem as excentrique and green as you are. I'd love to read about those and what happens there. Also, didn't you get involved with some kind of honest food you find in your garden and forest cooking book/blog?
In short, I just like to read what people are up to.

I personally do not get why other platforms like blogspot are suddenly so much more popular as Livejournal. What does Blogspot offer that's not here? :S

Interface-wise, blogspot is pretty easy compared to lj, it has some more features and it's, well, lj is really an interaction tool while blogspot is mostly a showing-off tool in some way, you can just choose to not read other journals and only broadcast. I think the appeal is that it's pretty easy and sleek-looking.

I'm sad for adult life being boring. I think it should be possible to work fulltime and still have a life full of magical sparkles and big adventures? I mean I think it's possible, but it seems hard in a way.

Haha my jobs are pretty adventurous though, that's true! By now I think I have had every job possible :D Jobhopping is kinda stressful but it does make your life more adventurous :)

Hoi :D
Jaaa ik ben er ook nog! Ik vind trouwens dat jouw LJ juist altijd heel leuk is :) Met veel foto's en fijne verhalen enzo :)

Zulke blogs ken ik ook wel ja, best wel jaloersmakend soms he?
An aspiring catlady: by kisa_chanbasje on August 28th, 2012 05:29 pm (UTC)

You hardly have a boring blog, love. On not-so-busy days I quite enjoy browsing through your archive here on LJ and on Flickr gazing at all your amazing photography. There are people out there, particularly on blogspot, that keep compelling blogs, I have to agree but I think you're just as captivating as they are. ♥ I know my posts here are likely not to your tastes but thank you for keeping me because I really do admire your journal.

I do always like your posts a lot! I don't comment often because you always seem to think a lot about the subject you're writing about and just posting a quick reply feels so hit-and-run, but I definitely do read them always :) And thank you so much for the kind words :)

I don't mind if you don't comment. Just reading is fine. :) You're welcome, love. Keep up the excellent blog! ♥

I confess your blog is one of my favorites! *blush* It's beautiful and transports me to another world!
Another blog I look forward to reading updates is Aspiring Homemaker http://aspiring-homemaker.blogspot.ca/. I do feel transported to a lovely, different world. I dislike religious tones, but the aspects of the blog I find amazing (the photos, the clothing, the food, the serene lifestyle on a country farm), makes it easy for me to overlook and just ignore them.

I think you were one of the friends I removed because I didn't recognize your name, but I definitely will remember it now and not remove you again! :) Thank you so much for your kinds words, it really means a lot to me. I will definitely check out the Aspiring Homemaker, it sounds really good! :)

Oh very weird, livejournal marked me as spam.
